Grant Guidelines & Application Form

Grant Guidelines

The Friends of White Plains Public Schools, a 501(3)(c) non-profit, provides grants for academic and cultural enrichment programs, projects, activities and other special needs not included in the District’s annual budget.

We welcome grant applications from teachers, coordinators and administrators (not PTAs). The grants we approve include:

  • in-school visits by artists/scholars/experts with students in classrooms or assemblies
  • STEM programs
  • nature programs;
  • cultural and educational events;
  • learning tools that will directly benefit students.

The Friends encourages grants for class, grade, school or District activities that increase student confidence and love of learning and, reflect and enhance the curriculum, benefit a significant number of students, increase student confidence and love of learning and, ultimately, student academic success. We do not fund field trips without a clear connection to classroom curricula, or end-of-year celebrations.

The Friends encourages grants that reflect and enhance the curriculum and benefit a significant number of students. Approved grants usually fall within the $300 to $3,000 range. Grant applications should be submitted at least five weeks before the start of the program or activity.
