The Friends is run entirely by a volunteer board

Our volunteer board consists of individuals with diverse backgrounds, including active and retired teachers, current and former parents with children in the district, and individuals involved in school leadership and PTA. We aim to supplement and support high-quality public education in White Plains that meets the needs of every student in our district. If you are interested in learning more about our board, please contact us.

Ellen Epstein taught in White Plains Public Schools for 40 years and is the 

parent of two WPHS graduates. 


Larry Geiger is the Co-President of the Friends Board​​​ and a former Board of Education Member. Larry's wife and daughters are WPHS graduates. 


Pam Geiger is a graduate of WPHS, a parent of a current MAS student, and the owner of a small business in White Plains.


Sasha Growick is a teacher at Ridgeway School and, a parent of two Church Street students. She is the coach for the Girls on the Run team and 

PTA Teacher Representative.


Doris Hernacki taught music in the White Plains Public Schools for 35 years and is the parent of two WPHS graduates.


Donna Joseph is a WPHS graduate and parent of two WPHS graduates. 


 Jen Kline-Galkin, an active PTA member and volunteer, is the parent of a current WPHS student and recent graduate.


Michael Kraver is a graduate of WPHS, a former member of the City and School District Shared Services Committee, a former co-vice president of the White Plains Community Neighborhood Association, and a parent of current Eastview and high school students.


Lydia Kris is a parent of two recent graduates of WPHS, the former PTA Co-President at MAS, and a PTA Board Member at WPMS and WPHS. 


Donna Louis is the Registrar at WPHS. She is the former PTA Co-President at Church St, Eastview, Highlands Middle Schools, WPHS, and the PTA Council. She has two children who graduated from WPHS.


Eileen Oleet is a founding member and past president of the Friends and parent of three WPHS graduates.


Michele Schoenfeld previously served as the District Clerk for the School District. She was also the former PTA President at Ridgeway and Highlands schools, in addition to being a member of the White Plains Recreation Advisory Board and a parent of two WPHS graduates.


Barbara Schwarz taught in the White Plains Public Schools for 25 years and was a member of many PTAs. She is a former member of the White Plains Hospital's Board of Directors and currently serves as an Ambassador at White Plains Hospital. Moreover, she is an active volunteer throughout the White Plains community.


Marc Sharff is a former Co-President of the Friends and a former Board of Education member. He is a parent of two WPHS graduates and a member of Grandpas United.


Meryl Stevens was an active PTA member and volunteer at Church St., Eastview, and Highlands Middle Schools, as well as WPHS. She was the co-coordinator of the Chess Program at Church St and is the parent of a recent WPHS graduate.


Silvia Viciedo is the Past President of WPHS, Highlands, and Eastview Middle Schools PTAs. She is a proud parent of two WP public school students and CSA Co-Coordinator and Girl Scout co-leader for Group 2468.


Nick Wolff is the 2014 recipient of The Sister Joan Haley Spirit of Compassion Award, Commissioner of White Plains Housing Authority, 

 Board Member of Thomas H. Slater Center, and a proud member of the White Plains High School Hall of Fame. His family includes four generations of WPHS graduates. 


Linda Woodward has been a Science and Special Education teacher at WPHS for 25 years. She is a former WPHS PTA Faculty Representative and National Honor Society advisor. She is an active member of the 

Pelham school district PTAs and community organizations, and 

a Board Member of Pelham Together.
